Review: The Fever

I don't remember high school being this rough. But then, it was a long time ago. This mystery/thriller with a dose of contemporary drama was pretty interesting. The pace was right on, and I enjoyed the characters. Most specifically the POV characters of the Nash family.

The story does jump around a lot, like there are lots of distractions in place to confuse the mystery aspect of the plot. But then things get tied together pretty well, for the most part.

A little weird, but engaging and encourages lots of page turning...

This really brings everything full circle and packs a punch, wrapping up the trilogy. Lansdale knows how to craft a story, with an instinctive grasp of character development. His language is such that he connects with readers and makes the task of reading an enjoyable escape. While all of the stories in this book fall into the "crime" category, this is a very loose grouping. There is such a mixed bag of offerings here, from the noir to the really freaking weird.
